We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Vashon Island Driver Helper at Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections Company in Fife, WA, with daily commutes to Vashon Island.

Pay:

Wages start between $23.00 and $25.00 per hour

Essential Duties:

• Assist the driver with route navigation and ensure adherence to the schedule.

• Help with the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables from designated locations.

• Operate and maintain equipment and tools required for waste collection, including garbage bins and compactors.

• Communicate effectively with the driver and other team members to ensure smooth operations.

• Perform routine inspections of the truck and equipment to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.

• Provide excellent customer service by addressing and resolving any concerns or issues that arise during the collection process.

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

• Assist with training new employees as needed and share knowledge of best practices.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and disposal.

• Help in the cleanup and organization of the work area after completing the daily route.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma required

• Previous forklift experience preferred

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions/work orders

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

• Capability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout an 8-hour shift

• Good attitude, strong work history, and strong work ethic
