Visit us at: www.OdysseyLogistics.com/careers About the Job: The position of Central Dispatch Supervisor will have primary responsibility of mentoring, leading, and directing dispatch staff. This position supervises the day-to-day operations of the dispatchers, assign staff to routes, and monitor the progress of individual shipments. The supervisor ensures the timely movement of goods and materials and client satisfaction.. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday Shift Hours: 7.30 am to 4:00 pm In This Role, You Will: Communicate with other departments and ensure that required information is exchanged timely and accurately. Assist manager with developing and maintain operational policies and procedures. Ensure that dispatch staff adhere to deadlines, procedures, and quality standards; work to resolve any problems or errors. Delegate workload to cover department outages. Work with Manager to supervise staff. Train and mentor staff. Answer phones and respond to customer emails. Support the development, implementation, and execution of processes for the department. Coordinate shipping schedules with customers. Verifies inventory locations and availability for final delivery against specified requirements. Provide shipment status reports to internal and external customers as required. Ensure that goods are delivered in the most timely and efficient manner according to documented processes, including planning the transportation route and payload, selecting the mode of transportation, tendering the order for transportation, and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery all the while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service, and contractual requirements. Keep internal computer systems updated with the most current and accurate information available on every shipment. Prepare proper paperwork for billing and authorization of a variety of invoices per defined processes. Organize and maintain hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution means, pricing, and contractual obligations. Carrier sourcing as needed to meet demands and minimize costs, and act as the final point of approval regarding vendor selection. Work with manager to effectively resolve order discrepancies that are outside of his or her control. Communicate with Branch Manager or Department Manager regarding any problems that arise. Answer questions regarding sourcing from internal and external customers as needed.
