SAMSON ROPE TECHNOLOGIES Material Handler (10:00am - 6:30pm) in FERNDALE, Washington

Samson Rope Technologies Description:

Samson, the worldwide leader in high performance cordage, is seeking a Material Handler for a split shift who will support the Shipping Department with regards to coordination of shipping of products, receiving products, and keeping the flow of material in and out of the department/WIP areas. They will be responsible for practicing a high level of business ethics and professionalism while adhering to safety and quality guidelines in accordance with Samson strategy and core values.

Shift Schedule: 10:00am -- 6:30pm

Training Schedule (approximately 2 -- 4 weeks): 7:00am -- 3:30pm

  • Physically able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders, and stand/walk on a prolonged basis.
  • Able to lift 10 -- 25lbs frequently and 50 -- 75lbs occasionally.

What You'll Do:

  • Pick, package, ship, and receive orders with appropriate system transactions, labeling and paperwork in a safe, productive, and accurate manner.
  • Prepare shipping documents and reports to include preparation of international documentation.
  • Release order and finished goods for inventory or customer with the carrier specified on customer order.
  • Perform basic warehouse and inventory transactions.
  • Be responsible for monitoring quality control and notifying lead or supervisor of any quality concerns.
  • Safely operate hoist, man lifts, loading docks & forklifts / fill out daily forklift safety check off sheets.
  • Complete cycle counts/inventory in assigned warehouse.
  • Collect finished goods from staging area, separate according to customer or Warehouse, and place in designated location.
  • Comply with 5S programs and participate in process improvement programs (i.e. Lean).

What You Should Have:

 

Education

  • Required: Basic reading comprehension, writing, and arithmetic skills. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to use the English language to engage in effective communication within our business operations.
  • Desired: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience

  • Desired: 3+ months forklift driving experience; warehouse experience; forklift certification.
