Basic Responsibilities

The Water Quality Program Manager assists with the oversight of water treatment operations, water quality sampling and testing, water quality reporting and record keeping, and water quality laboratory procedures to ensure optimized water quality and compliance with all State and Federal drinking water requirements for the District's water systems. This position also contributes to the development of the program or service supporting the design, strategy and other activities. Serves as the backup designated Certified Operator in Responsible Charge for the District's water systems.

The Water Quality Program Manager is expected to be reasonably available to assist and provide direction during water quality emergency situations and outages, and when acting as the Certified Operator in Responsible Charge.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related field, AND Four (4) years of experience in managing a program, product, or service deliverable, account management, or related;

OR

  • Eight (8) years of experience in managing a program, product, or service deliverable, account management, or related.
  • Washington State Department of Health certification as a Water Distribution Manager 3, Water Treatment Operator 2, and Cross-Connection Control Specialist.

Preferred Qualifications/Certifications

  • Progressively more responsible work experience in water system operations, engineering, or water quality.
