*Duties: *Conduct user research from discovery to validation, synthesize insights, socialize findings, and validate user experiences for mobile, desktop, and instrumentation for new and existing products and services (15%). Conduct user research and usability testing to assist in the improvement of our User Experience (UX) processes and User Interface (UI) design standards (5%). Leverage experience with the end-to-end design process, including user workflows, conceptual designs, prototypes, and final visual designs, to design, develop, and modify software research plans and impact product design and quality (30%).Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time an d cost constraints, and to answer relevant design and business questions (5%). Leverage and triangulate both qualitative and quantitate methods to uncover product opportunities, and synthesize insight in a compelling, creative, and actionable way to quickly identify underlying user issues (10%). Partner with project managers to develop project schedules and tasks, while advocating for appropriate user research activities (3%). Coordinate with product planners and business unit managers to recruit participants for user research activities (3%). Perform direct UX-focused software system testing and validation procedures, and monitor functions to ensure the product operates in conformance with UX/UI specifications (2%). Stays current on research trends and industry best practices, evaluating core experiences, and identifying friction areas (2%). Serve as an advocate for the User, Design and Research (implicitly covered with other duties, explicitly (5%). Build Fluke's research rigor by unifying methodologies, introducing and building research tools and platforms and evangelizing design/research thinking through trainings and seminars (20%).

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Centered Design, Entertainment Technology, Computer Graphics, Usability Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years of experience as Web and Digital Interface Designer or related occupation in interaction design, user research, or human factors engineering or, alternatively, a Master's degree and zero years of experience as stated above. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section); experience/skills may be gained during degree program: Experience owning and guiding the end-to-end design process, including journey mapping, persona generation, user workflows, conceptual designs, prototypes, and final visual designs; Experience leading and conducting quantitative research efforts such as surveys and questionnaires using one or more survey tools and deriving analytics data; Experience planning and conducting qualitative research efforts, including ethnographic studies and shadowing, using research tools, as well as synthesizing large volumes of research data, socializing and documenting highlights and summaries for a larger team; and Experience running usability testing and codesign sessions and creating discussion guides to facilitate the same on a larger scale. Hybrid (must report to Everett office 3 days/week and 2 days/ week remote).
