Raytheon Technologies Senior Field Support Engineer (Hybrid) in Everett, Washington

When products enter the field there are instances where the design does not function as expected or might not meet the demands of the customer. The role of the Field Support Engineer is to assess the issue and decide whether they can make the fix themselves or Project Engineer the change by pulling together a team, using the Product Support team and/or Portfolio support team to address the issue(s).

This role will require the successful candidate to have a strong foundation in project management tools, root cause analysis skills, and ability to work across multiple departments to resolve the issue. In additional to these core skills, the successful candidate will be able to manage/develop a robust metric tool, streamline processes for identification of in-service issues and clearly report out to customers and leadership. There will be a requirement to manage moderately sized projects and/or processes which will require problem solving skills that combat difficult to sometimes complex issues; typically impact multiple departments or specialties. Responsibilities including coaching junior staff members and delegating project tasks to the correct resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Champion the timely closure of in-service issues by managing each project and ensuring the right level of priority and resources are assigned.

  • Own the in-service issue project reviews and ensure robust root causes and corrective actions are being executed.

  • Work with Product Support and Value Streams to establish a process that aligns on prioritization, reviews project status and when escalation is required.

  • Develop and enhance the Interiors wide reporting approach and develop a method of having recurring review with the correct stakeholders.

  • Work with the Value Streams that are currently unsupported by Interiors Service & Support (ISS) to understand and capture the in-service issues.

  • Provide metrics on performance of tasks including On Time Delivery (OTD) and First Pass Yield (FPY).

  • Provide lessons learned back to new product team to help eliminate recurrences of these issues.

  • Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) sessions with the Product Support team to ensure the department’s process’ and structures are effective; make refinements as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge in root cause analysis and field investigations

  • Proven experience in project engineering/management - preferred project management (PMP) qualification

  • Preferred interior product knowledge
