Quality Improvement Specialist RN

*Will be reporting to Providence Everett Colby Campus in Everett, WA

SCHEDULE: FTE 1.0, averaging 40 hours per week. Day shift. Monday-Friday, 8a-5p PST (may be somewhat flexible on start/end times).

The Quality Improvement Specialist performs functions that support the hospital and medical staff to continually improve patient care, reduces risk, and provide excellent customer service. This position provides support, facilitation, and coordination to support clinical and process improvements throughout the organization.

Provides coaching and consultation for Mangers/Directors/Caregivers.

  • Ability to assist with development of the hospital Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Plan and departmental Performance Improvement Plans..

  • Serves as link to other projects and resources within the organization.

  • Serves as link to organization, system, health care, quality trends.

  • Serves as facilitator and subject matter expert for process improvement teams.

  • Provides expertise, knowledge, and use of GE tools and methods.

Performs or supports clinical studies and review activities.

  • Uses prospective or retrospective methods to review studies related to effectiveness of care.

  • Develops and uses screening criteria, indicators, and data collection tools as required.

  • Compiles data and drafts reports, submit or present findings to appropriate clinical, support or medical staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Washington Registered Nurse License.

  • Bachelor's Degree. Or equivalent educ/experience.

  • Actively enrolled in Bachelor’s Education Program.

  • 5 years Experience within an acute care hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Experience with process improvement theories and methods, adult learning principles, and data analysis methods.
