Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Overview: Responsible for processing payroll for US and Canadian employees on a bi-weekly basis, including handling off-cycle payments. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with payroll schedules and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process payroll data for all employees, adhering to payroll schedules and regulatory standards.

  • Assist managers with maintaining accurate time and PTO records.

  • Audit payroll records and resolve discrepancies with employees or managers.

  • Respond promptly to payroll-related inquiries from employees, former employees, and management.

  • Investigate and address payroll questions related to employee compensation, garnishments, policies, and taxes.

  • Handle phone and email inquiries regarding Verification of Employment (VOEs).

  • Process bi-weekly expense reimbursements.

  • Manage wage garnishments and child support orders.

  • Prepare payroll journal entries on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.

  • Generate and review payroll reports, conducting accuracy checks.

  • Work with the People & Culture team to enhance payroll processes.

  • Contribute to payroll initiatives and departmental goals.

  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • At least 2 years of payroll experience, including processing payroll for 500+ employees in multiple states.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Basic knowledge of payroll, including taxes and garnishments.

  • Proficiency in payroll processing, journal entries, month-end procedures, and payroll accounting.

  • Experience with payroll software such as UKG, UltiPro, Kronos, or ADP.

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Strong critical thinking skills, collaboration, and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced, requiring accuracy and attention to detail. You will use various payroll software such as UKG, UltiPro, Kronos, and ADP, as well as MS Office products, particularly Excel and Outlook. Collaboration with the People & Culture team is essential to optimize payroll processing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
