Providence Health & Services Patient Services and Access Representative - Managed Care Support in Everett, Washington
Providence Medical Group is calling a Patient Services and Access Representative to the PMG Managed Care Support team in Everett, WA.
This is a full time (Monday - Friday; Day Shift) and benefits eligible position.
This position will provide efficient, accurate, and effective customer focused communication services, pre-registration of new patients and verification of registration for established patients. Obtain and verify insurance eligibility verification for behavioral health patients and obtains referral authorizations. Ensure payer requirements are met in a timely manner. Provide routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex billing issues.
In this position you will:
Ensure outside appointments completed, referral closed, and consult notes received
Confidential information & conversations are secured from general public access
Ensure all faxes and other communications between the RC, the lead node, and the data management centers adhere to federal regulations
Collect and verify insurance authorization requirements to ensure payer requirements are met in a timely manner
Communicate with internal and external customers including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies
Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals and authorizations via computer system and/or manual systems
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three years health care business office or insurance experience required, with a minimum of 1-year ambulatory practice experience
Comprehensive working knowledge of third party insurance processes required.
Working knowledge of front and back office functions
Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Training in coding with one year experience with coding: ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS
One-year patient third party eligibility verification experience on an automated patient accounts system
