Description: 

The Operator l position will be responsible for supporting all necessary machine operation activities related to the role. This includes preparation and upkeep of the workstation, parts processing, quality assurance, and safety compliance. 

Responsibilities and Duties:  

This position will work under constant supervision until training requirements and Supervisor approval is granted, and under general supervision thereafter. The duties of the Operator l include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: 

  • Prepare Workstation: Get the assigned workstation ready for the production run. This includes necessary paperwork, label(s), fixtures, inserts, label reject box, tools, materials, first article, and boxes.
  • Parts Processing: Clipping, trimming, degating, counting, boxing, other activities as necessary.
  • Work Area: The Operator's surrounding work area (machine and workstation) must be clean and organized.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality inspection according to Operation Instruction sheet. Rejects must be properly recorded, and the acceptable correct finished parts count must be confirmed.
  • Safety: Comply with all safety protocols and complete required scheduled safety training.
  • Machine Maintenance: Report machine repair and/or safety issues immediately to the Shop Foreman or the Operations Manager  

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and the ability to read and write English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong basic math skills -- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Takes direction and is willing to learn all aspects of the position.
  • Dependable transportation -- may be public or private.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift 35 pounds to chest level. Hand strength must be sufficient to clip and degate parts.
  • Body Positions: The employee is regularly required to stand for two thirds or more of the shift and may also be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities.
  • Body Movement: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands and fingers to handle, feel and operate objects such as machines and computer equipment. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed is also required.
  • Sensory Requirements: The employee must have command of the following senses: sight, hearing, and touch. Specific visual abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The operator must be able to shift focus from computer screens to computer console and back and must be able to perform both visual and tactile inspections of molded parts to ensure they conform to customers' specifications.

Preferred: 

  • 1-2 years' work experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing work environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft productivity and collaboration technologies (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint etc.).
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker.
