Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Landing Gear Systems Engineer (Associate level) to join our Airplane Systems engineering team located in Everett, WA.

Position Overview:

We are looking for individuals to join our Airplane Systems engineering teams. In this role, you will collaborate with suppliers and internal Boeing organizations to oversee the development of aircraft mechanical-hydraulic systems and associated components.

Our work covers the entire aircraft lifecycle, from initial concept studies and development to certification, continuous production improvement, and ongoing support. Positions are available at both the systems level and across various components, such as hydraulic actuators, hydraulic control valves, landing gear components, brakes, airborne electronic hardware, and associated software.

You'll be working under general supervision in a dynamic environment. We're seeking candidates who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective collaboration within a team setting and the application of sound engineering fundamentals and judgment are essential for this role

Position Responsibilities:

• Define system requirements and establish system architecture.

• Assess and refine hardware and software designs, including interface specifications.

• Take charge of component-level design requirements (Specification Control Documents).

• Evaluate system performance using modeling and simulation methods.

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and modification of system, component, and installation designs/proposals, ensuring comprehensive design documentation for downstream teams.

• Conduct thorough analyses to validate and ensure compliance of systems and components with requirements and specifications.

• Collaborate with a global supplier network to develop and deploy system hardware, electronics, and software. Drive supplier development, participate in design reviews, and oversee test and production activities to ensure seamless integration and design adherence.

• Execute, validate, and certify designs through rigorous laboratory and airplane testing.

• Review and create fleet Service Bulletins as necessary.

• Explore and develop technologies for potential future applications through research and development efforts.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” status as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Systems Engineering

• Experience with Design Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired):

• 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

• Experience in development of hydraulic systems, actuators, hydraulic control valves, landing gear components, brakes, airborne electronic hardware and associated software;

• Experience with Boeing 737, 767, 777 or 787 airplane programs;

• Comfortable working in a team environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. bachelor’s) and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. master’s with 1 year of related work experience, 7 years related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range:

Associate (level 2): $68,000 – $120,000
