The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Supply Chain Engineering organization has an exciting opportunity for a proactive Experienced Process Engineer to join the team in Everett, WA.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) Initiatives team. The SCE Initiatives team has been chartered to lead numerous process initiatives to improve on-time performance and process compliance between Boeing and our suppliers. The selected candidate will become the leader of one or more of these major initiatives. This position allows telecommuting, however the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) Initiative Leader

  • The SCE Initiatives team has been chartered to lead numerous process initiatives to improve on-time performance and process compliance between Boeing and our suppliers

  • There are several key initiatives including developing a new data management system, improving the qualification process, ensuring proper documentation of supplier production control documents, addressing gaps in the spec change process, leading the reduction of supplier engineering request backlogs, implementing process fixes in supplier data transmittal tools, etc.

  • Each team member will become the leader of one or more of these major initiatives. This SOW includes:

  • Developing problem statement

  • Partnership with all key functions (Supplier Quality, Supplier Management, Suppliers, Engineering, BR&T, IT, etc.)

  • Pull together necessary team members to develop solution

  • Become a SME on the applicable process (what is working, what isn’t, and what should be done about it)

  • Develop metrics

  • Lead implementation of solutions including application improvement and development

  • Regular status to various leaders from multiple functions

  • Work across BCA and enterprise where necessary

  • Partner with suppliers as necessary to help develop a solution

  • Gather and develop requirements for solution

  • Present to leadership to gain sponsorship, approval, and funding as necessary

Key skills to be successful in this role:

  • STRONG project management skills and experience

  • Communication skills and all levels of leadership

  • Think large scale and sustainable (goal is not just to fix the problem today, but also to make sure the problem doesn’t come back)

  • Be open to new ideas and be able to challenge team to think differently

  • Knowledge and application of requirements definition and software application development

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering process development and process integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge and application of Project Management

  • Proficiency building strong relationships

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Comfortable leading projects across teams both virtually and in person

  • Knowledge and application of Business Acumen

  • Experienced leading Engineering related organizational wide process improvements

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
