Reporting to the Vice President and Head of Strategy for Fortive Corporation, the Executive Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Head of Strategy and the 5-member team in streamlining day-to-day operations. The team operates in a very fast paced manner, interacting extensively with external stakeholders in senior positions in other target companies, investment banks, venture capital funds, and with the rest of the leadership team at Fortive corporate including the CEO and CFO and the Presidents of all the operating companies. The team is often on the move with extensive travel and external meetings.

In addition to addressing the basic needs of travel, expense reports, organizing meetings, monitoring schedules (only for the VP), the person can also be involved in assisting the team with executive presentations, contracts & NDAs, excel spreadsheets, team website, organize external events, etc. The limits of the contributions for this role will only be limited by the capabilities and the energy of the individual.

Core Responsibilities:

• For the VP:

o Coordinate all aspects of schedule, including domestic and international travel

o Anticipate potential schedule conflicts and proactively deal with them before they become issues.

o Serve as gatekeeper of time, schedules, and information while maintaining a courteous manner

o Coordinate travel and ensure to keep on top of schedule changes (VP travels every week)

• For the team:

o Assist team members with scheduling of complex meetings and multi-party events

o Manage expense reports for the entire team

o Help with travel, although most personally manage reservations

o Source and recruit subject matter experts by trolling LinkedIn, etc. when needed; execute NDAs, contracts and arrange for site visits

• Occasionally, plan and coordinate big meetings/gatherings ranging from 2-4 people to 100 people. Where needed, assist attendees with all logistics

• Set-up video conferencing and other media technology as needed

• Produce PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets. Import Excel into Word and PowerPoint. The more the individual is talented and enterprising, the more the individual will be offered the chance to learn and develop on this front

• Maintain documents – on the sharepoint web site, for contracts, NDAs, for best practice documents

• Proof read and format important documents, including those to the CEO and/or the Board of Directors


• Bachelor’s Degree required.

• Previous experience providing support to senior executives

• Impeccable accuracy in formatting, spelling, grammar, and proofreading

• Must have excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software

• High energy, resourcefulness, ability to manage dynamic / changing situations without getting stressed
