Fortive Corporation Engineering Development Program - Validation & Verification Test Engineer in Everett, Washington

Jumpstart your career as a well-rounded engineer by joining Fluke’s Engineering Development Program! In this 2-year rotation program, you’ll have the chance to make an impact and get exposure to innovative engineering roles throughout the business, all while being supported by a team of carefully selected mentors and fellow rotation program employees. About the rotation program: Over two years you will rotate through several carefully selected engineering roles to gain knowledge and experience across multiple applications of engineering and gain a broader understanding of the Fluke business. There will be a minimum of two rotations in a core area of engineering as well as potential additional rotations. As an Electrical Engineering graduate your two core rotations will be in hardware engineering and test engineering. More details on these rotations are below. Once you successfully complete the rotation program, you can expect to be placed in an Operations Engineering or Design Engineering role. We will take into account your preferences, capabilities, and where we believe you will be successful for your first role outside of the rotation program. Our goal through this program is to help you build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills to have a successful career within Fluke and/or Fortive. Validation & Verification Test Engineer: The Validation and Verification Test Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing test systems to ensure that products are fully functional, ensuring the product adheres to the highest quality and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Include: • Develop/maintain verification systems for each assigned product to ensure complete and robust test coverage. • Review and provide input to product requirements ensuring that they meet the key validation criteria of complete, objective, and testable. • Create and execute test plan / cases according to project schedule with execution toward quality and delivery. • Provide schedule input for the project plan to the team. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive execution of ideas (continuous improvement mindset). Propose and establish new product development procedures and processes. • Coordinate actions with other functions to drive results to support needs of project. • Interface with Hardware and Software Engineers and the wider team to review system requirements and construct effective test strategies. • Contribute to the entire hardware/software development life cycle from initial business requirements to deployment, production, and service support. • Problem solving through Engineering analysis.

Operations Test Engineer: As a Test Engineer you will be tasked with analyzing, developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, test operation sequences, specifications, and equipment requirements for production validation of new and existing products. You will assist new product introduction into manufacturing and released product support. Through these activities you will drive metrics to improve in such areas as safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

Responsibilities include: • Plan and implement test systems as needed for new product introductions • Support, maintain and improve test systems throughout the factory • Drive quality through internal and external root cause countermeasure of failures • Identify and drive cost saving opportunities within the factory • Advise design engineering of existing production capabilities, equipment, facilities and standard practices to contribute to the development of new designs • Coordinate design changes for existing parts, products, and/or test stations as per product requirements • Validate test stations using software and hardware • Provide technical assistances for hardware and software debugging • Review test results and analyze test data from database and improve yields

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent. • Ability to learn new programming concepts, languages, and practices. • Quick learner when facing new situations • Ability to work with ambiguity and utilize sound judgement and decision-making skills • Proactive ‘self-starter’ attitude and willing to ask questions to understand work priorities and timelines. Additional preferred skills and behaviors: • Experience with Agile HW/SW development • Understanding of DC, LF, and RF measurement processes and equipment • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, BASH • Familiarity with the Linux command line environment • High motivation, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn. • Sets high expectations for self and team. • Able to learn from setbacks and move forward with a positive attitude. • Able to both give and receive development-oriented feedback. • Deliver breakthroughs by taking risks, experimenting, and iterating quickly. • Foster a work environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed and encouraged. • Experience with prioritizing work and managing multiple complex tasks. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Awareness of and experience with engineering documentation preferred. • Use customer insights to identify and meet or exceed customer needs.

Must be able to start work in December 2022 or January 2023.
