Job Overview

The Director of Planning & Procurement will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement and planning processes for all of the RANDY’S network. This role is a key member of the RANDYS Leadership Team, will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and will influencing the overall operational strategy for improvement and growth of the RANDY’s business. The successful candidate will drive process discipline, efficiency, and manage the operational and daily business with focus on Process, Performance, Practices and People. They will measure progress through the deployment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and will be responsible for identifying industry best practices and process enhancements for development, management and continuous improvement of the supply chain operations. This includes, and is not limited to, quality and operational efficiencies directly contributing to an improved customer experience. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing, collaborating and implementing effective supply chain strategies to enhance RANDY’S go-to market strategy, as well as develop robust and always-improving cost efficient delivery models for the business. This role requires the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with Sales, Strategic Sourcing, outsourced partners and the ability to lead and influence at all levels in the organization. The selected incumbent will possess significant transformational capability, as the company continues to make investments in the total supply chain model; driving improved cost, consistent service, greater quality and an overall improved customer experience.     Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain; Master’s Degree a plus

  • Ideally, 10+ years of escalating supply chain operations management experience – preferably of complex mechanical components and assemblies

  • Lean Methodology and/or Supply Chain Qualification (e.g. Six Sigma, APICS) and related experience in process enhancements and standardization

  • Effective Project Management Skills with strong attention to detail

  • Advanced knowledge in MRP implementation, processes and integration of supporting applications – Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and flexible team environment

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold team members accountable

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in use of ERP and database systems

  • Effectively coordinate with the Planning and Sales management team to develop and audit aggregate forecasts, review ordering trends, measure inventory levels and turns, and review the short- and long-range plans and capacity consumption accuracy.

    Essential Duties:

    Procurement & Planning

  • Develop, implement and lead the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) process for RANDYS

  • Plan, organize and direct the corporate materials procurement and management process to provide the company with materials and supplies at a high level of effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Plan, organize and develop a procurement and logistics capability enabling RANDYS to achieve lowest total acquisition cost, search and fill unique or difficult requirements and realize shortened lead times

  • Plan organize, and support the search, selection, management and performance of the supplier base

  • Measure performance in terms of availability, short procurement cycle times, on time delivery, low cost and high quality

    Inventory

  • Monitor and audit inventory analysis processes for multiple-sites

  • Ensure proper procedures and controls are in place

  • Ensure proper alignment of materials covered by customer contract or provided sales order to minimize excess and obsolete material

  • Monitor accuracy and timeliness of the kitting, receiving and shipping functions

  • Materials Requirements Planning:

  • Ensure all Master Production Scheduling (MPS) is accurately imported and maintained in the MRP system

  • Collaborate with the Planning and Program Management teams to ensure material is aligned to demand and aligned to the manufactured plan

  • Develop material plan to achieve desired inventory levels

  • Identify material delays and accordingly adjust schedules to meet production deadlines

    Systems

  • Create, develop, and implement innovative supply chain management solutions for the company that minimize materials, procurement and overhead costs

  • Oversee company enterprise systems

  • Collaborate, lead and manage the implementation of value-added logistics programs (including but not limited to: eCommerce, consignment, auto-replenishment, EDI and Kanban programs) to eliminate non-value added activities within the supply chain and supply chain systems both internal and external to ultimately reduce material overhead costs

    Administration

  • Review, compose, amend and communicate policy and procedure for Corporate Materials Ensure these processes allow RANDYS to conduct its business rapidly and with a minimum of non-value add activities. These policies must also ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and certifications. The regulations would include all applicable Federal, State, provincial and local topics.

  • Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized

  • Ensure all direct reports have the necessary training, measures and are held accountable for results

  • Participate in the hiring process as needed
