Fortive Corporation Contracts Administrator in Everett, Washington

The Contract Administrator position sits within the Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) legal department and supports contracting activities under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Counsel, who reports to the Associate General Counsel for Advanced Sterilization Products. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for negotiating, reviewing and preparing standard and nonstandard agreements primarily for the manufacture, sale, and distribution of ASP and affiliated entities’ products and services. Previous experience in a corporate contract administration or legal setting, as well as negotiation and preparation of contracts is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, an interest in legal innovation, and be a self-starter who thrives in a challenging, friendly environment. More specific responsibilities and qualifications are set forth below.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with different levels of personnel within the organization to analyze and solidify an overall contract strategy.

  • Negotiate, draft, and if necessary seek approval for, a variety of agreements such as customer sales agreements, distributor agreements, license agreements, SaaS agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, development agreements, and supply agreements.

  • Review and analyze legal terms and conditions associated with purchase orders, bids and proposals.

  • Interface with various departments to answer questions and resolve issues in support of contract negotiation and throughout the contract term.

  • Proactively make recommendations to management to improve contract templates, playbooks, processes and policies.

  • Identify and address operational and legal issues associated with contracts and seek advice from internal business groups such as engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, procurement, quality, compliance, legal and other subject matter experts.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers and build strong relationships.

  • Participate in successful ideation of legal innovation initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent substantive knowledge and relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional-level experience, preferably with a manufacturing, medical device, or global technology company.

  • Experience with government contracts and a working understanding of government contracting rules is a plus, but not required.

  • Strong understanding of contract/purchase order terms and conditions; knowledge of the federal, state, and/or local government contracting process is a plus.

  • Able to provide accurate, high-quality yet practical and concise work product.

  • Confident and professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Energetic, self-motivated and constructive approach to work.

  • Strong ability and willingness to be flexible and adaptable to work in a complex, global environment cross functionally and build relationships.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.

  • Proactive in identifying issues in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Experience and interest in the disruption of traditional methods of legal delivery.

  • Interest and knowledge of technology industry.

  • IT literate, with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
