AvtechTyee Inc Business Unit Manager in Everett, Washington

Our Business Unit Managers are responsible for a functional Business Unit and will be expected to successfully own the annual operational plans, quarterly reviews, monthly reporting, and overall profit and loss.  This includes organizing and executing related sales and marketing activity, leading a cross functional Business Unit Team that includes Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales.  This role will have extensive interface with customers, including assigned key accounts, as well as AvtechTyee senior staff, TransDigm executive leadership, and related parties.  Sets priorities for new business projects and tracks progress.  Focuses on pipeline development of the order book, continuous improvement initiatives, and pricing strategy.

 

In this Role, you will be responsible for:

  • Principal responsibility for all assigned Business Unit bookings, sales & profit performance
  • Organize and execute the sales and marketing activity for the assigned AvtechTyee Business Unit
  • Promote and sell the group's existing products and meet the planned backlog targets
  • Promote value generation of the Business Unit by achieving growth through profitable new business using the A/B new product process
  • Expand market share of both existing and new products
  • Track cost improvement plans, and actions related to the Business Unit value generation plan
  • Prepare written proposals for both new and existing products that support the annual Business Unit bookings plan
  • In conjunction with the VP of Sales, prepare a yearly and three-year income/bookings plan, which supports the goals of the AvtechTyee annual business plan. Provide a rolling forecast of new business quotas and formulate long range sales/margin analysis and marketing strategy for the Business Unit
  • Support field sales/representatives' activities; coordinate customer's interface; assist in presentations and closing negotiations, train field sales/representative personnel to sell the product
  • Prepare & present to TransDigm executive leadership Business Unit Review presentations
  • Models and enforces safe work practices; ensures a consistent focus on safety

What you'll need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related field, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years' of sales or engineering experience with a broad knowledge of Aerospace industry
  • Previous experience building a strong and positive team environment, and experience managing leaders successfully
  • Demonstrated success achieving budgetary and revenue targets
  • Analytic skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel to gather, manipulate and comprehend data
  • Ability to listen, ask questions and make decisions quickly

Nice to have, but not necessary:

  • Advanced knowledge of the industries business principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry regulations, operating norms, and requirements

The target wage/salary range for this role is $110k - $150K + annual bonus, depending on education and experience.
