Everett Community College Associate Dean of Advising and Counseling in Everett, Washington

Associate Dean of Advising and Counseling Posting Number: 02383 Department: Instruction and Student Services Job Summary/Basic Function: The Associate Dean of Advising and Counseling will provide leadership, operational oversight, evaluation and assessment for the Advising and Counseling and Student Success departments. This position will serve as a liaison between the Student Services and Instruction divisions in the training and implementation of program advising. Minimum Qualifications: ? Master’s degree or higher. Degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, Student Personnel Administration, Student Services, Student Development, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field preferred. ? Three years of progressive administrative responsibility directing a college unit in one or more of the following: academic advising, counseling, transfer articulation, student development and retention, student support services, TRiO, and admissions/enrollment. ? Supervisory and/or management experience of full-time employees (e.g., Classified, Faculty and/or Administrative Exempt). ? College level teaching, advising and/or counseling experience ? Experience that demonstrates awareness of structural barriers for systemically nondominant populations and ability to communicate and/or implement strategies for navigating and disrupting those structures ? Proven ability to manage program development, training curriculum development, and assessment. ? Demonstrated project management and time-management skills including dealing with multiple and competing deadlines, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, complete tasks on time and be responsive to requests. ? Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment and possess strong team building and conflict resolution skills; Ability to establish and maintain positive collaborative working relationships. ? Demonstrated commitment to developing processes centered on equitable outcomes and building quality relationships that engage students and employees in decision making and constructive conflict resolution. ? Demonstrated ability to create clear, precise and effective verbal and written communication. ? Experience in data-driven decision making. ? Proficiency with web communication tools, Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications. ? Experience working in a community college environment. ? Experience supervising faculty. ? Experience leading teams that provide academic advising and/or academic counseling. ? Current Mental Health Counseling License. ? Experience managing or working with union labor contracts. ? Experience working with degree audit systems. ? Experience with Starfish or similar student success platform. ?
