Fortive Corporation Asset Management/CMDB Lead in Everett, Washington

Job Summary:

The role of the Asset Management/CMDB Lead is to ensure that value is achieved as anticipated from the services within their area/domain of responsibility.

  • Responsible for the design and maintenance of the Configuration Management System (CMS).

  • Designs, communicates, and ensures adherence to Service Asset and Configuration Management policies and standards to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of Configuration Items (CIs) required to deliver IT services is complete and up to date.

  • Ensure CI data is provided to defined Service Management Processes, esp. Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management

  • Perform regular audits and checks to verify that CMDB is complete and up to date.

  • Develop and administration authorization concept for CI maintenance to ensure CIs are only added/changed by authorized users.

  • Review and approve Data models of Service Providers where relevant to ensure integration.

  • Ensure clear ownership for components, Configuration Items and Assets across service providers.


  • Acts as an interface between IT and the Service Provider.

  • Works in collaboration with the service provider to continuously improve the service and performance.

  • Track record in Configuration Management role, preferably with evidence of applying controls around configuration data quality across multiple providers (internal/external).

  • Experience in infrastructure management and optimization.

  • Experience in an ITIL based environment.

  • Design, implement and manage Service Asset and Configuration Management process across internal and external providers.

  • Oversee maintenance of the configuration management system (CMS) including the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) .

  • Design (logical and physical) data models that enable the assessment of the Impact and cause of Cross-Delivery Incidents and Problems and proposed Changes, supports planning and design of new or changed Cross-Delivery Services and Releases, technology refresh and software upgrade, as well as optimization asset utilization and costs, e.g. consolidate data centers, reduce variations and re-use assets.

  • Ensure integration of multiple CMDBs.

  • Maintain a secure Definitive Media Library (DML) that holds the master copy and associated documentation for all released software.

  • Other Duties as assigned.


  • Strong passion for customer service and user experience.

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training.

  • 7+ years’ experience managing IT assets in a global environment

  • 4+ years within Managing CI’s within ServiceNow.

  • Experiencing working in a global environment.Extremely knowledgeable of the ITIL Service Management for Asset and Configuration Management.

  • Extremely knowledgeable of the ITIL Service Management for Asset and Configuration Management.
