We are recruiting for a range of titles; the successful candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on qualifications.

Basic Responsibilities

Successfully provide technical, engineering, and project management services related to the design, maintenance, operations, improvements of and additions to the District's facilities. Plans, organizes, and conducts work requiring knowledge of 480V electrical systems for industrial/commercial facilities, building management systems, building commissioning, UPS design and data center experience. Performs as project leader on medium to large projects and assignments.

The System Planning & Protection group is responsible for protection of a portion of the District's 12 kV distribution system.  As part of the District's SnoSMART grant, deploying distribution automation (DA) devices will be an important aspect of the work. Responsibilities include performing short-circuit modeling and analysis, coordinating protective devices for optimal fault isolation, developing and documenting settings for a variety of protective and voltage-regulation devices, identifying and initiating projects to improve reliability of the system, collaborating with a cross-functional team to identify most effective locations for DA devices, and providing analysis, field support, event investigation, and corrective action for operation of various types of equipment.   

 

Minimum Qualifications

Engineer II:$74,604 - $124,342 Annually

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND
  • Two (2) years of related engineering experience;

OR

  • Six (6) years of directly related engineering experience

Engineer III: $124,779 - $155,975 Annually

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND
  • Four (4) years of related engineering experience;

OR

  • Eight (8) years of directly related engineering experience and a Washington State Professional Engineering License (PE) in-lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

Professional Engineer:* $156,523 -- $195,655 Annually

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND
  • Six (6) years of related engineering experience;

OR

  • Ten (10) years of directly related engineering experience.

Principal Engineer:* $175,3066 -- $219,134 Annually

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, AND
  • Eight (8) years of related engineering experience;

OR

  • Twelve (12) years of directly related engineering experience.

     

*Professional and Principle Engineer require a WA State PE License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
