Position Summary
This is an entry-level position within the Accounting Department. This position will perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in areas of General Accounting to include stores accounting, fund accounting, receivables processing, payables processing and certain financial reporting functions. This position is responsible for the maintenance and preparation of accounting records.

Takes the lead in communications with vendors and District representatives on inquiries related to Accounts Payable processes. This includes email management and vendor out-reach.
Supports the processing of Accounts Payable transactions to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws, Commission resolutions, and Grant PUD policy and procedures.
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of payments and supporting documentation in the District’s electronic records system.
Assists with file management and documentation tasks.
Perform work that is routine and some non-routine work that usually involves limited responsibility.
Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in accounting.
Coordinate, prepare, and review reports and transactions.
Assist in the implementation of new accounting procedures.
Interface with various departments throughout Grant PUD in gathering and verifying information.
Represent Grant PUD in a positive fashion when communicating with external and internal customers.

May operate a District Vehicle.

Required Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications):
High School diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications):
Associate degree with an emphasis in accounting.
Two years of accounting experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective, positive, and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Team player.
Knowledge of PC systems, software, and procedures; spreadsheets, work processing, and other computer software as needed.
Time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
