Press Brake Operator
Job Description
This position involves working with one other employee (lead) in the Sheetmetal department and learning to run various machines such as turret punch, shear, saw, router, and straightening. We are specifically looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience on a press brake.
• Sets up and operates one or more sheet cutting, forming, straightening, band saw, drill presses, brake press, and shears. The candidate must be able to operate all types of sheet metal machines to cut, bend, or form parts and use sheet metal hand tools.
• Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Hard Skills
Accurate use of calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
Set up and operate press brake, band saw, etc.
Prepare order of operations and run complex forming and bend operations
Knowledge in interpreting blueprints and tolerances
Understand flat pattern layout
Effectively move parts through the department and follow work instructions
Soft Skills
Adapt and promote best in class practices
Foster collaboration across the company
Ensure smooth implementations of solutions
Build the overall capability of the organization
Safety conscious mindset
