Requirements

Licenses & Certifications: WA RN License or Compact License

  • BLS

  • NRP (within 6 months of hire)

  • STABLE (within 6 months of hire)

  • ACLS (within 12 months of hire)

  • Fetal Monitoring: Either AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate Course or higher (within 6 months of hire) or C-EFM

    Years of Experience: 1+ years L&D experience

    Specific Requirements?

  • Level 1 nursery, take low risk patients greater than 35 weeks pregnant

  • Candidate must have worked at critical access or smaller hospitals - nurses will be doing it all without as much support as larger hospitals, because the patients they see don't need that support. If they do, they transport.

  • Candidate must also be open to floating. They typically see 28-30 births per month on average. If there aren't any laboring mothers, they will "sit" patients in the ED, M/S, or CCU floor. This means they will keep an eye on patients to make sure they don't remove IVs and will notify others if they need help
