The objective of the Program Specialist 3 position is to help University departments comply with the state and federal laws relating to the preservation and destruction of records, both paper and electronic: providing customer service to faculty, staff and clients seeking front line guidance and ease in establishing effective proactive record management departmental systems and schedules. This position will advise all levels of the University on the establishment of standards which ensure the legal legitimacy of University record-keeping systems. Job Duties Records Management: - Direct, coordinate and process the transfer, storage and disposal of inactive University and Business Services records in accordance with approved state and university unique record retention schedules. - Oversee the transfer of records from departments to our archives and the destruction of approved university records. - Maintain and enforce procedures for the control and use of records. - Assist in development of uniform filing systems. Identify system areas requiring refinement. - Analyze departmental filing systems and the design of alternative systems to meet specialized office filing requirements. - Identify potential applications of electronic, micrographics and reprographics technology. - Assist in performing analyses to determine the feasibility/benefits of converting information to alternate formats. - Implement, maintain, audit and perform the development and revisions of CWU's Unique Record Retention Schedule. - Facilitate the identification and descriptions of records series. - Maintain and update CWU's Unique Record Retention Schedule. - Coordinate an
