The Role: The CSS2 is responsible for the Student Accounts Office customer service, answering financial questions for parents, students and other account holders who visit the office, call, or email. This position will also conduct ongoing, routine, and repetitive fiscal tasks in manual and automated systems. The CSS2 also is responsible for researching, investigating, analyzing and following up on the collections of overdue accounts, while, at the same time, providing excellent customer service and advice to students, parents, and University departments regarding account receivable policies and procedures. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment. Job Duties - Assists clients to resolve questions regarding their financial account. Provides advice, interpretation, and counsel to clients regarding a broad range of student account rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Interprets detailed financial data and communicates accurate information in-person, over the phone and via email under tight time constraints and heavy traffic, including difficult, emotional, and sometimes upset clients. - Provides day-to day support, assistance, reconciliation, and interpretation in all aspects of student financial account processing such as: tuition and fee charges, payment plans, late fees, guaranteed payment sources, direct deposits, payments, 1098t, and account balance. Applies knowledge and understanding to interpret and communicate university student account policy to internal and external customers. - Balances and prepares routine reports such as, collection agency remittances, post collection costs to the student accounts, reconciles and prepares check requests to pay the agencies the collection costs paid by the students. - Distribute University checks to individuals in person or by
