The Role: The purpose of this the Student Leadership, Involvement, & Community Engagement (SLICE) department is to create a sense of belonging, identity exploration, and promote positive social change within individual communities, the university and beyond. The Program Manager for the Campus Activities unit is responsible for developing, planning, and executing a diverse range of co-curricular programs and activities that enhance the student experience and promote engagement on campus such as large-scale event planning and innovative programming to support CWU student retention efforts. This position will infuse purposeful programming designed to enhance a sense of community and belonging at CWU through partnerships on and off campus. Independently responsible for supervision of student assistant staff, the Program manager also maintains close working relationships with university departments, public agencies, and key collaborators as well as working closely with student organizations, faculty, and staff. Focusing on engagement as a direct retention effort, the role emphasizing out-of-class learning opportunities for students through extra and cocurricular programs and services with a continuing commitment to social development, education, leadership development, diversity, and inclusion. Job Duties Program Management and Facilitation: - Manage, develop, and implement large-scale student events including student appreciation, weekly events like Monday Movie Madness, history-month programming, and support campus-wide planning committees (homecoming, welcome week, student appreciation, etc.). - Develop new and innovative student involvement programs and opportunities infusing best practices and current trends in the field.
