Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Special Education to join our Education, Development, Teaching & Learning (EDTL) team in Ellensburg, Washington. Learn more: CWU Benefits, Perks & Discounts. The Role: This position is in the Department of Education, Development, Teaching, and Learning (EDTL). The faculty is expected to teach existing introductory and advanced Special Education courses p-12, with emphasis in elementary education, and other courses in their area of expertise using a variety of modalities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to a constructivist philosophy; keep abreast of current and emerging education trends; advise students; contribute to the department/program; engage in scholarship appropriate to their field; provide service to the University, the community, and their profession. Faculty will integrate CWU's commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for all students. Primary job duties and responsibilities will take place in Ellensburg, WA. Distance Education, online, and teaching at CWU centers may be required. Minimum Qualifications Please address in your cover letter: Earned doctorate in Special Education, or highly related field. Three (3) or more years of teaching experience at the PK-12 level. Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities. Teaching, research, service, or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students.
