Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Public Health to join our Health Science team in Ellensburg, Washington. Learn more: CWU Benefits, Perks & Discounts Overview The Role: This position in the Department of Health Science is expected to teach existing undergraduate and graduate public health courses in their area of expertise using a variety of modalities, with an emphasis on on-campus instruction. Faculty are expected to advise students, contribute to the department/program, engage in scholarship appropriate to their field, and provide service to the University, the community, and their profession. Faculty will integrate CWU's commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for all students. Minimum Qualifications Please address in your cover letter: Terminal degree in Public Health (PhD or DrPH) or a closely related degree in the field of public health including but not limited to: Community Health, Health Policy, Health Administration, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Occupational and Environmental Health, or Health Promotion (ABD candidates may be considered; however, the terminal degree must be completed within one year of start date.) Preferred Qualifications Possess superior teaching abilities as evidenced by student, peer, or supervisor teaching evaluations Capacity to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities, with an emphasis on on-campus teaching (examples; writing in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, research methods, global health, environmental health, cross-cultural health practices, health policy, public health ethics, etc.) Potential to meet or exceed department/college/university tenure requirements Evidence of embracing the social determinants of health as integral to health equity and social justice.
