Learn more: Benefits, Perks, and Leave. The Role: The Academic Success Coaching manager is responsible for developing the Peer Mentoring program utilizing two legislative funds. They collaborate with the Asst Director for Advising and Peer Mentor programs and the Dean of Undergraduate studies to successfully incorporate coaches in the UNIV 101 program. Coordinating mentors in UNIV 101 also requires clear and consistent communication with partners in each of the Academic Colleges. This position partners with the Learning Commons Training Manager to develop and offer ongoing training for peer mentors, using strategies that align with high impact practices. This position also participates in assessing program initiatives and Learning Commons services. This position collaborates with other Learning Commons staff and campus partners to determine and meet emerging student academic support needs through outreach, program initiatives, and collaborations. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Advising and Peer Mentor Programs. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment. Job Duties Coordinate Peer Mentoring - In partnership with the Asst Director and Dean, develop programmatic strategy and goals for Academic Success Coach and Wildcat Academic Mentoring in alignment with stated objectives. - Oversee the integration of academic coaches/peer mentors into UNIV 101 program - Partner with the Training Manager to conduct ongoing training of student employees, focusing on developing trainings specifically for peer coaching and mentoring staff. Topics to include academic success strategies, time management, wellness, resource referral, peer advising, resilience, emotional intelligence, and goal setting - Serves as an active member of the Learning Commons team and takes part in staff meetings, team building, events
