Responsibilities A WG-8852-12, AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A): Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft. Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Maintains UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conduct inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publications and special inspection criteria as outlines in PAA, OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages. Plans, develops and conducts proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel. Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations. May participate in operational flights as a crewmember. A&P Mechanic Preferred Other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military Grades: E3-E7 Compatible Military Assignments: 15T - Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the MOS to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain MOS within 1 year of appointment action. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - All soldiers, civilian employees, and contractor employees who drive Army-owned or leased vehicles must complete the Army Avoidance Course (AAC) training when they start working for the Army. Must have a valid Washington state and military driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Government Travel Card (GTC) and be able to attend all schools deemed necessary by the supervisor. - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. - Must maintain membership in the WA Army National Guard for continued employment. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. Education Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Not Applicable.
