Seneca Foods Corporation in Dayton, WAis seeking Seasonal Seed Technicians to fulfill various production line positions in our seed production facility processing vegetable seeds,for its 2024/25 seedproduction season. Seed harvest receiving - mid-June through mid-October. Conditioning - late-July through late-January. Packaging - early-October - mid-April. This timeframe is tentative and can be affected by the weather and crop availability. Hours per day, number of days worked per week, and day and night shift start/end times can vary throughout the year based on business needs. Seneca provides safe working conditions,paid overtime over 40 hours per week, and on-the-job training. The expected compensation range for this position is $17.00-$20.00 per hour, depending upon skills & experience. Responsibilities: Perform duties relating to seed processing including receiving, milling, treating, inspecting, bagging, palletizing, loading, weighing, and moving processed seed product. Operate seed processing equipment. Examine seed and adjust machinery to maintain quality and quantity of product. Review process operations instructions. Operate a forklift in activities of storing and transferring seed. Support Team's work environment. Perform general duties in seed sample collection and quality review. Manually lift, move, and stack full (=> 50 lbs.) sacks of processed seed or materials - repetitively. Inventorymaterials and supplies on work floor. Maintain a clean and safe work area; Cleanup duties. Loads and unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device and maintains related records. Perform general seed equipment maintenance;Fill fuel tanks or replace liquefied gas tank. Utilize forklift skills to transport loads to designated areas. Unload and stack material by utilizing lift/lower device. May have supervisory responsibilities for employees during parts (or seasonally) during the year. Work in other dept's as assigned, such as operating processing or packaging equipment, cleanup, record keeping, or shipping. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety policies/procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements include but are not limited to: Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Strong work ethic. Regular Attendance. Good communication skills. Ability to work weekends and various shifts throughout seasonal peaks/based on business needs. Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the season.
