Whidbey General Hospital Purchasing Clerk in Coupeville, Washington


The Purchasing Clerk supports the mission of providing quality healthcare to the patients of WhidbeyHealth by facilitating the procurement and delivery of necessary supplies, equipment and services in a timely, organized and efficient manner. This position is responsible for coordinating the ordering of stock and non-stock items including follow-up with internal and external customers; processing returns and credits; maintaining and updating purchase requisition and purchase order data; and other duties as assigned that support the Purchasing Department. Weekend Duty / Holiday Rotation EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must have advanced knowledge of storage and inventory management as well as knowledge of packing and shipping procedures. Must possess effective, professional interpersonal skills as well as excellent service skills. Two (2) years of purchasing/buying experience required, previous hospital purchasing experience preferred. Completed advanced education in business or accounting will be considered in lieu of directly related experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.
