Department of the Navy (NAVFAC) ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in Coupeville, Washington

Duties
  • You will be responsible for operating gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles such as tractor-trailer combinations, semi, refuse trucks, or other vehicles typically with a gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds.
  • You will be responsible for daily inspection and preventive maintenance of assigned equipment, filling out operator's daily check list cards, identifying operational defects and/or discrepancies.
  • You will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment at all times and will immediately report any accidents or incidents to a higher authority.
  • You will operate engineering and construction equipment for assignments.
  • You will drive vehicles on public roads (or equivalent) in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds to transport supplies, hazardous materials, equipment, and/or passengers.

Qualifications 1) Operating gasoline or diesel powered, wheeled or tracked heavy equipment; 2) Using basic equipment to tow and operate various accessories; and 3) Completing the appropriate vehicle check lists noting the required preventive maintenance and deficiencies for the various vehicles and equipment.
