Job Description Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, as well as obtaining and maintaining required licenses. This assignment is for a Full-Time position at the Upper Baker Facility, but will include working at Lower Baker through October 2024. This job is considered "safety sensitive" as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites. Job Responsibilities Puget Sound Energy Fish & Wildlife Specialists I/II/III duties are to care for fish stock through all stages of their life cycle as well as operating the facilities that support this endeavor. This includes observing, recording and taking follow-through actions to implement fish and wildlife management programs, safely handling and transporting fish, monitoring and maintaining fish and wildlife environments, performing daily operations and daily, routine operation of fish handling systems and equipment and reporting needed maintenance. Further responsibilities include continued support in development, planning, implementation and review of all compliance and FERC licensing obligations impacting environmental operations across company projects primarily at Baker River Project. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: All upstream and downstream fish passage facility operations; including crane operations, inspections, data management and reporting Operate vehicles in all weather and road conditions including marine vessels Research and study planning and implementation with reporting responsibilities both internal and external Fish production and propagation facilities operations including spawning and rearing of fish, control, containment and use of chemicals Identification, enumeration and transportation of various life stages of fish Maintenance planning and operational improvements for Fish & Wildlife equipment. Environmental field related data collection operations, project planning, reporting and implementation of operational improvements Minor repair and maintenance tasks associated with the operation, adaption, and upkeep of facilities and grounds. Correspondence and coordination with public and private agencies Operate motor vehicles in a safe, professional, and courteous manner in accordance with Company Policy requirements (CP #16) and Department of Transportation regulations. Qualify for and operate a forklift Minimum Qualifications Fish & Wildlife Specialist I: Minimum 2 year Associate degree in environmental sciences or applicable field of study (6 months of applicable work experience preferred) Basic computer skills and knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (Microsoft office suite) Valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR and ability to operate vehicles and vehicle trailer combos up to 26k Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, in and out of ponds and w
