The company is seeking a hard-working individual to work in production. This position is full-time, non-exempt, $18.00/hr - $30.00/hr D.O.E. Compensation includes medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) plan with employer matching contribution, life insurance, employee assistance program, and training opportunities. Regular shifts are Monday -- Friday with overtime as needed. Day shift hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, swing shift is 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm, and graveyard is 10:30 pm to 7:00 am.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Train new and existing employees to weld materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel using GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) processes.
  • Review and train staff per controlled Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs).
  • Train new and existing employees to braze materials such as copper, brass, steel, and stainless-steel using torch brazing.
  • Review and train staff per controlled Brazing Procedure Specifications (BPSs)
  • Prepare, test, and document weld and braze coupons using established methods and reports.
  • Train new and existing employees to perform weld inspection per Colmac policy.
  • Maintain welder / brazer continuity logs for active welding / brazing personnel.
  • Perform pre-employment welding and / or brazing proficiency tests for employment candidates.
  • Perform periodic weld inspections as required by Code or Colmac policy.
  • Work closely with Quality Control and Production on welding and brazing related quality issues and investigations.
  • Ensure welding and brazing processes meet all standards and specifications required through program monitoring.
  • Coordinate with production management team to actively communicate progress of trainees and training cell schedule.
  • Assist w/ development and revision of WPS and BPS documents as necessary.
  • Proficiency with ASME Section IX code for welding and brazing standards.
  • Develop into Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Colmac brazing and welding processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral form.
  • High knowledge and experience with aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel TIG and MIG welding processes as well as with copper, brass, steel, and stainless-steel brazing processes.
  • Successfully pass the Colmac QC Inspector knowledge test and visual acuity test.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Be familiar with and know how to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel applications.
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Candidate with AWS Certification preferred.
