Rural Resources Community Action Maintenance Technician in Colville, Washington

Rural Resources Community Action is looking for a Maintenance Technician. This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with benefits and located at our Colville, WA office. As a Maintenance Technician, you would be performing general maintenance, electrical & plumbing, custodial duties, maintaining facility grounds, snow removal, ensuring building security & safety, and maintaining inventory of janitorial and custodial supplies. 

The qualities we are looking for include the ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, communicate effectively with staff and the general public, operate snow removal equipment, utilize resources in an efficient and economical, work independently with a minimum amount of supervision, operate 1-ton vans safely and other heavy equipment, diagnose/analyze/interpret and apply regulations to housing conditions, basic computer skills, treat sensitive information with confidentiality, and establish/maintain manual record-keeping systems. As well as knowledge of construction safety principles/policies/procedures, sanitary procedures, custodial principles/practices, basic tool safety/operations, plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs.

To apply for this position, you would need:

  • Five years of multi-family unit housing maintenance experience; or Associates Degree, or equivalent, in maintenance/construction-related field and two years' experience performing maintenance/construction work; or  
  • High school diploma or GED; four years of general construction and repair experience including window, door, and insulation installation; or
  • Any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job.

Salary & Benefit Information

The hiring range for this role is $19.87-$21.49 per hour. The full salary range of $19.87-$33.08 per hour represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience & qualifications. As a full or part-time employee, after the successful completion of our six-month training period you may receive a 4% step increase and an additional 4% step increase on your annual anniversary thereafter (excludes temporary employees). Depending on full time or part time status, other benefits may include medical (three plan options), dental and vision insurance, vacation, a 403(B) and/or Roth IRA retirement savings plan with a company match of up to 6%, $12,000 life insurance policy (while employed with RRCA), Employee Assistance Program and other auxiliary insurance options.  All employees, regardless of temporary, part-time or full-time status will receive sick leave.
