City of College Place Stormwater Worker II in College Place, Washington
Position Summary:
Perform tasks involved in the operation, maintenance, improvement, and quality of the City's surface water distribution system; Cleaning, clearing, maintaining, and improving storm drain system; improving all public right-of-way and roadway surfaces within the City. Incumbents may work independently or within a team. Independent decision-making is required. Performs on-call duty on a rotational basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Depending upon assignment, the incumbent may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties, which are a representative sample of the level of work appropriate to this class.* *
- Cleans and repairs catch basins and storm pipes; inspects and repairs manhole vaults and covers.
- Performs minor repair and replacement of storm drain infrastructure.
- May coordinate with outside contractors to clean and TV specific sections of the City storm drain system.
- Recognizes and reports illicit discharges that affect storm water quality.
- Assists with the cleanup of hazardous materials.
- Maintains records related to storm water inspections and maintenance activities.
- Keeps detailed records of time, materials, and equipment.
- Conducts inspection of the storm water drainage system.
- Perform Arbor work which affects city stormwater conveyance system.
- Takes field notes.
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs to asphalt and concrete surfaces.
- Operate street sweeper to maintain cleanliness of public streets.
- Responds to daily calls dealing with street, sign, and public right of way issues.
- Assist in traffic control and safety maintenance.
- Participate in curb, gutter, and sidewalk maintenance duties.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and replacement of water utility system infrastructure.
- Operate a video inspection vehicle to inspect storm lines.
- Operate jet-vactor truck to clean storm lines.
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Basic 1^st^-aid & CPR certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Washington State Approved Flagging and Traffic Control Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Class A CDL with Tank Endorsement, air brake restriction lifted, or ability to obtain one within nine months of hire.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Background with computer programs (Word, Excel).
- City organization, operations, policies and objectives.
