Osborn Consulting Stream Restoration & Wetland Specialist in Clyde Hill, Washington
We\'re looking for a Stream Restoration & Wetland Specialist (or Restoration Design Professional, Urban Ecological Designer) who is inspired by riparian ecology and passionate about a science-driven approach to designing beautiful and resilient spaces. As a member of our diverse, multidisciplinary team, you\'ll work closely with landscape architects, civil engineers, and civil designers to restore the ecosystem function of fish-bearing streams across the Puget Sound and the greater Pacific Northwest. About You As part of our Natural Resources practice, you must be collaborative, thorough, and well organized, with excellent verbal and written communication. Multitasking skills are also essential for success. To thrive in this position, you have the following qualifications: Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in landscape architecture, hydrology, soil science, botany, ecology, resource management, or related field 2 to 5+ years\' experience in delineating wetlands, preparing wetland reports, conducting function assessments, and developing and implementing mitigation plans Certified Professional Wetland Scientist Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D It would be great, but not required, to have these additional qualifications: In-depth training in at least one of the following areas: plant ecology, soils, or hydrology Successful built projects and construction administration expertise Solid computer software skills in SketchUp, MicroStation, Adobe Creative Suite, Land F/X, Revit, , and other industry software Ability to read and interpret ecological restoration construction plans Landscape architect licensure and continuing education in related fields Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead About the Role In this role, we\'ll count on you to: Develop and interpret stream and wetland restoration plans, sustainable stormwater design plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and as-built plans under the support of senior staff Coordinate with local design and construction teams, collaborate with other team members to collect and analyze field data to establish existing conditions, identify potential design constraints, determine design parameters, and post construction monitoring. Assist in providing oversight during construction Assist in preparing technical documentation associated with the restoration design process, including writing proposals, design summaries, mitigation plans, regulatory permit applications, cost/quantity estimates, bid documents, construction specifications, construction oversight reports, and post-construction monitoring Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments and data gathering Location This position can be based out of our Seattle or Bellevue office.
