We are looking for an experienced Sr. Director of Corporate Events who will lead our events strategy and work closely with all parts of the Smartsheet organization, playing a key leadership role within the marketing team. You will report to our SVP of Brand, and can be located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer. You will: Lead the Sponsorship and Events function at Smartsheet, including managing a growing team of direct reports. Create a 3-5 year global events strategy in partnership with the local marketing teams in EMEA and APAC. Leverage proprietary and third party events to expand current business and drive new logos. Develop existing portfolio to optimize current programs, and identify new opportunities to support the business. Own all aspects of the planning and production of the Smartsheet ENGAGE annual customer conference. Partner with teams internally and externally on venue selection, attendee registration and housing, content and agenda development, marketing materials, staffing coordination and on-site event logistics. Develop and manage workback schedule in Smartsheet, across multiple workstreams. Manage department budget, including quarterly forecasting and spend +/- 3% Internal readiness: ensure proper communication with executive team, stakeholders and staff regarding event goals, responsibilities and priorities. Identify opportunities for process and event management improvements and develop new policies regarding implementing new procedures. Support other duties as needed. You have: 10+ years of experience in marketing, with 8+ years experience in event management/planning in the technology industry. Established track record of creating and delivering successful events from inception to finish. Experience owning event budgets in excess of $5 million. Ability to work effectively at all levels - with exceptional poise and executive maturity. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and driving strong work-back plans and milestones. Track record for solving complex problems, managing across many teams, and driving business results. Experience leading a team with the proven ability to communicate, delegate and develop direct reports. Ability to balance the need for creativity with a data-driven approach to measuring impact and success. Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all deliverables. Proven results working with creative and production agencies. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Ability to travel, as required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Communications, Marketing.
