Production engineering ensures that Snowflake's security services are available, secure and perform to our users' needs. As a Production Engineer, you will work to improve the reliability and performance of Snowflake's distributed systems. You will closely partner with Database Security product engineering team to design, build, operate, and automate distributed applications at the heart of Snowflake's service that are critical to the function of our customers. AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - AUTOMATIONS/OPERATIONS, YOU WILL: Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services, from inception and design, to deployment, operation, tooling and refinement. Scale systems sustainably by automation and drive changes that improve reliability, security and velocity. Write and review code. Develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems on large distributed systems. Collaborate with software engineers to establish, maintain, and optimize functional and performance SLAs. AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - AUTOMATIONS/OPERATIONS, YOU HAVE: Experience in capacity and load testing distributed applications. Experience in deploying, managing, and operating scalable and fault tolerant Linux infrastructure. Hands-on operational experience performance measurement and benchmarking. Hands-on experience with one of more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Knowledge and experience with different security areas like identity and access management, cryptography, or network security is a plus. Solid fundamental computer science skills. Proficient in at least one modern programming language, Python or Java preferred. Systematic problem-solving methods, effective communication skills. Completed a Bachelors in Computer Science; Masters or PhD is a plus. Every Snowflake employee is expected to follow the company's confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data. The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role: The estimated base salary range for this role is $187,000 - $276,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan. The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
