Job Overview The Principal User Experience Researcher will be responsible for leading all aspects of primary research for products and services; this includes scoping, design, execution, analysis, and reporting of results. The Senior User Experience Researcher will employ a wide variety of research methods including moderated and un-moderated usability studies, heuristic evaluations, online surveys, card sorts, tree tests, and more. This critical role will report to the Senior Manager of User Experience Research and drive execution of the following areas: study design, screener & discussion guide design, recruiting, data processing and analysis, as well as leading presentations. The Principal User Experience Researcher will have a strong understanding of user interface design principles and proven real world experience conducting research as part of the product development lifecycle. They must be proficient in a wide range of methodologies. They will identify research program opportunities and align with design and business partners. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders in research execution. Responsibilities * Lead design execution of studies of products and services with representative users. * Lead analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and presentation of findings in a meaningful and easy to understand manner. * Lead collaboration with designers, product managers, and developers for optimal and timely resolution of usability findings and recommendations. * Lead heuristic expert evaluations and cognitive walkthroughs of new products and services at all stages from concept to prototype to product. * Perform iterative device evaluation and UI issue tracking across digital services such as websites and mobile apps. * Create and manage long-term research plans, impacting products or services early in the product development lifecycle. * Anticipate and lead the future direction of UX research, proposing new research initiatives. * Tailor research methods to suit their needs and create new research methods or tools. * Lead cross-divisional or company-wide projects with multi-disciplinary teams. * Teach, instruct, and mentor other researchers. * Manage internal resources and external vendors to successfully bring projects to completion. Qualifications * Degree in research, psychology, human-computer interaction, human factors or related work experience * 7 or more years of experience successfully leading and conducting research * Expert knowledge of user research and user-centered design principles * Willingness to roll up the sleeves and lead by example when
