Description This position supervises the coordination of all inland freight activities related to stocking of distribution centers. Ensures the timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while applying exceptional communication skills, customer service, and supervisory talent. $68K Salary Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate transportation and transfer moves. Monitor compliance at all times, of operational processes, procedures, and company policies. Develop operational and customer/supplier process flows, procedures, and training guidelines, constantly looking for areas for improved efficiency and knowledge. Ensure all internal and external (customer, suppliers, etc.) operating procedures are documented (i.e. SOP) and followed. Develop a trusted carrier base and negotiate the best rates and service levels. Regular audit of freight lanes, volumes, rates Freight forwarding as needed (raw materials, equipment, etc.) GAB activities as defined and approved. Contribute to weekly meetings with the management team and related departments. Prepare department goals and KPI's, and periodically review with the manager. Prepare and monitor required and/or applicable reports to ensure productivity, accuracy, and performance goals are met. Use the above duties to construct and issue occasional Request For Proposal (RFP). Job Requirements High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)preferred; two to three years related experience or training in logistics, freight forwarding and/or customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree and/or equivalent experience (2-3 years). Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely, to obtain positive results. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Understanding of beverage distribution, FCL/LCL truck and ocean cargo movement, and associated documentation process experience a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be detail-oriented and possess problem-solving ability. Must be highly organized, with the ability to work quickly and accurately, while handling competing priorities. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to maintain a professional composure while working with employees of different skill levels. Required to demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy at all times. Must have a high priority towards sensitive and confidential situations.
