Job Description This position contributes directly to the exciting transformation of Puget Sound Energy's utility-scale generation and storage portfolio to meet the reliability and clean energy needs of our customers. You will take ownership of new projects for offtake structures for renewable and storage assets. Leads and coordinates all commercial functions, including negotiations, project oversight, cross functional team management, and management approval in the acquisition, divestiture and restructuring of energy resources, real estate, and distribution assets. Develops and implements acquisition/divestiture strategies, evaluates potential transactions and shepherds the transaction through commercial negotiations and closing. Further represents all of PSE's interests in commercial development agreements with outside parties. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. Job Responsibilities Leads the resource acquisition RFP (requestforproposal ) process and due diligence of potential transactions including financial feasibility analyses, engineeringreview,operationsreview,environmentalreview,legal review andrealestate review. Overseesand leads negotiationsofbusiness deals critical to PSE's corporate growthstrategy,including acquisitionsanddevelopment projects, purchase andsalesagreements, O&M agreements,realestate agreements, interconnection agreements, andserviceagreements. Ensures thatallconditionsaremetrelatedto deal closingandthat transaction issuccessfullyclosed. Supportsregulatoryaffairs in demonstrating prudenceoftransactionasneeded, including preparingandproviding testimony in Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC)ratecases. Manages external vendors setting scope, providing direction and approvingwork. Performs other dutiesasassigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business administration,orequivalent combinationofeducation and/orworkexperience; plus 7yearsrelevantworkexperience. 5yearsincreasing responsibility in the utility,oil,gasorindependentpowersector andexperiencein project developmentorcommercial acquisitions. Strong businessandfinancialanalyticalskillswithcapability to analyze a wide array of business challenges. Demonstratedexperienceand ability toleadand influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Excellentverbalandwrittencommunication skills, including ability to contemporaneously document evaluation, due diligence and negotiation initiativesforlater prudence purposes. Ability to understand complex financial pro-formas and provide direction to analytical staff Desired Qualifications MBAor relatedpost graduatedegree Understanding of financial and accrual principals Experience with energy dealstructuring and tax equity Experience with Project Developer Experience in all stages of project development including acquiringsite control, interconnection, transmission, permitting, and construction.
