The Basics: As a member of Tanium's Brand and Corporate Marketing team, the Back-End Developer reports to the Web Architect to maintain legacy code and build out new features and functionality for Tanium websites . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in WordPress, as well as a deep understanding of Object-Oriented PHP and SQL. This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA. What you'll do:

• Collaborate with a distributed team of front-end developers, content managers, and designers
• Build new features and functionality for Tanium websites
• Maintain and update existing components and libraries
• Write secure, reusable code for WordPress and proprietary web architectures
• Optimize legacy code for scalability and efficiency
• Recognize, identify, and patch vulnerabilities in the code

We're looking for someone with:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience using PHP
• With at least 3 years of WordPress back-end work
• Practical experience with Object Oriented Programming
• Significant database experience, preferably with MySQL
• Functional knowledge of REST APIs
• Thorough experience with Git
• Preferred but not required: React, Regex, Gulp, XSS, SSRF, SQL Injection
