Job Summary:

 

Eastern Washington University is currently seeking an Assistant OR Associate Athletic Trainer for Football. This position is housed in the athletic department and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletic Trainer supervises the care of student athletes competing in the University's Athletic programs, working primarily with Volleyball, while working with additional programs at the discretion of their supervisor. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's comprehensive sports medicine program.

The salary for this position is $42,000 (minimum) up to $60,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Required Qualifications:

 

For Assistant Athletic Trainer:

 

• Masters degree

• Minimum of one (1) year certified experience

• Certifications from BOC

• First Aid/CPR /AED certification.

• Experience with therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques

• Communication with sport staff (physicians, strength and conditioning, coaches, and admin)

• Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.

• License issued by the Washington State Department of Health, or the ability to receive license prior to start date.

 

For Associate Athletic Trainer:

 

• All requirements listed for Assistant Athletic Trainer

• Experience with athletic training administration duties

• 2+ years of experience

• Athletic training experience at the NCAA Division I level or commensurate experience

Job Duties:

 

ASSIST IN THE OVERALL SUPERVISION OF A DIVISION I SPORTS MEDICINE PROGRAM.

Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.

Evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries.

Providing counseling and education to student athletes.

Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes.

Be the lead athletic trainer for assigned sports.Percent of Time: 50

 

Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete for assigned sports programs.
