Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor at our candy production facility plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production processes. This position involves overseeing all aspects of maintenance, from crew supervision and equipment management to safety compliance and project coordination. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, exceptional planning and leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise Maintenance Crew

       - Lead and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair work across the facility.

       - Manage daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  2. Facility Inspections

       - Conduct regular inspections of all facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.

       - Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

  3. Maintenance Scheduling

       - Develop and oversee weekly maintenance schedules, allocating tasks to the maintenance crew based on priority and expertise.

  4. Recruitment and Training

       - Recruit, hire, and train maintenance technicians, ensuring they are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for their roles.

       - Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

  5. Safety and Compliance

       - Ensure all maintenance operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.

       - Conduct safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.

  6. Budget Management

       - Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

       - Monitor expenditures and recommend adjustments to stay within budget constraints.

  7. Equipment and Inventory Management

       - Oversee the inventory of maintenance materials and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement.

       - Implement an inventory management system to track usage and reorder supplies efficiently.

  8. Project Coordination

       - Lead and coordinate maintenance projects, including renovations, upgrades, and equipment installations.

       - Collaborate with other departments to ensure project timelines and goals are met.

  9. Production Support

       - Ensure the optimal operation of production machinery and equipment, minimizing downtime and maintaining production schedules.

       - Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the production area, adhering to food safety regulations.

  10. Documentation and Reporting

        - Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and equipment performance.

        - Generate reports on maintenance metrics, budget status, and project progress for management review.

Qualifications

  • Education Degree from a vocational school or technical college; additional certifications in relevant areas preferred  (e.g., CMRP, HVAC).

  • Experience Minimum of 5 years in maintenance supervision, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
