City of Camas Part-time Offender Crew Leader in Camas, Washington

The Camas Police Department is seeking to fill a part time Offender Crew Leader position. The individual selected will supervise offender crews performing community service work on City and other public service projects. This position reports to the Police Administrative Sergeant.

The schedule for this position is 7:30am -- 3:30pm and is a rotating shift working 3 days on,1 day off, 3 days on, 7 days off.

This position is represented by the CPEA bargaining unit and is eligible for a part time comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision.  Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System PERS.  Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued leave.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of criminal justice is beneficial.
  • Two years of experience performing duties in a similar position (i.e. supervisory, construction, landscape or other outdoor work, or public safety experience).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid First Aid certificate.
  • At least 21 years of age.

In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidates will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, ability to take initiative, technology skills, good verbal and written communication skills, understanding of group dynamics and motivation techniques and demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills.
