Summary
The Receiving Warehouse Associate supports the Warehouse and Materials Department by receiving incoming products and performing a variety of inspection tasks related to product assurance, as well as quality system and regulatory compliance. Employees in this area handle a variety of materials, products and specifications within Shipping, Finished Goods, Regulatory and Quality Compliance. Parts and Materials may be expensive, fragile or hazardous in some cases. Receiving Associates are critical to the supply chain process and continuing support of the organization. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager but may have some oversight from the Quality Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of incoming products and materials to ensure compliance to the purchase order, specifications and/or engineering drawings.
- Documents work using appropriate forms and records. Maintains all Receiving Inspection records in good order and archives appropriate documents electronically using company records system.
- Keep inspection areas in good upkeep and safe operation.
- Ensure Hazardous Materials are handled in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure use of current necessary data for inspection.
- Maintain files of the completed Inspection records.
- Ensure all receiving transactions are recorded into proper record system.
- Workers may use material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to bring products and materials to an appropriate location.
- Maintain communication lines with Planning, Engineering, and Sales on changes made to the orders and delivery anomalies as applicable.
- Maintain communication lines with Inventory on consistency of data between the ERP and sales order anomalies as applicable.
- Maintain Receiving Inspection KPI's including anomalies raised and track resolutions as applicable. Assists in resolution and assisting the affected departments in corrections.
