Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

Produce machined parts by setting up and operating manual lathe and mill machines, cutting materials based on specifications in a blueprint.

Hard Skills

  • Operate manual lathe and mill machines

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and material specifications

  • Plan machining sequences and set up requirements

  • Calculate and set machining controls (stock feed, coolant flow, speed, depth, angle of cut)

  • Shape materials such as steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, and magnesium

  • Use lathes and horizontal boring equipment

  • Maintain production and quality logs

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to detect and correct malfunctions

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Burlington, Washington.

Work Environment

Extremely clean shop. The noise level in the production area is usually loud. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Work is in a shop environment with moving mechanical parts, electrical parts, and vibration equipment. Adhere to safety procedures and regulations. Maintain machines and tools using preventive maintenance requirements. Safety glasses required; hearing protection and safety shoes optional.
