Responsibilities

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of nursing and clinical education for the Emergency Department at St. Anne Hospital. As the driving force behind the unit-specific orientation, education, and training programs, you will work collaboratively with unit management and Regional Education to enhance the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care by providing educational support to staff.

Essential Job Functions:

You will play a crucial role in equipping clinical staff with the skills and competency needed to meet all applicable regulatory, risk, and patient safety requirements. Through your expertise, you will assess, develop, revise, and coordinate teaching programs for all nursing staff and provide in-service education.

In your capacity as a leader in staff development, you will plan and direct the orientation and residency programs for new personnel to assigned units. You will promote learning experiences and information for staff based on their individual needs, and develop competency assessment tools to ensure staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality of care.

You will be a key player in the department's quality improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to support these initiatives and incorporating changes into education offerings. Your collaboration with other educators will help to enhance self-learning, promote professionalism among educators, reduce duplicative services, and provide opportunities for a more standardized system.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and two years of RN nursing work experience in the designated specialty area. Previous work experience in the education/training of healthcare providers is strongly preferred. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current active Washington State RN license.

  • Certification in specialty area to be obtained within one year of hire.

Current Health Care Provider BLS required, unless assigned to work with Surgery Schedulers and Surginet.

Pay Range

$46.96 - $74.63 /hour
